Background & History
Llandudno Vaults will be housed in the historic Fach Reservoir, built in 1880 to supply water to a new, growing town. The reservoir was later decommissioned, leaving behind a hidden underground space of stunning red-brick arches. Over the years, it has captured the imagination of locals and urban explorers, earning comparisons to Istanbul’s Basilica Cistern.
Llandudno Vaults LTD aims to repurpose the reservoir into an immersive attraction, blending heritage preservation with modern storytelling technology. The project has been developed in consultation with local technologists, artists, and digital designers, ensuring that Llandudno Vaults stays true to Victorian origins and Welsh culture while delivering an engaging, high-tech experience.
